![]() Produce losses due to bruise damage are a major factor in the fruit and vegetable industry. In the potato market alone, shrinkage losses due to bruise damage are estimated at 12% of annual production of $6 billion dollars- a very substantial figure. Our corporate mission since 1992 has been to help growers, packers, processors and supermarkets reduce shrinkage losses due to bruising and other handling damage. NOBRUZE PROTECTIVE PADDING was in fact created specifically for the needs of the fruit and vegetable industry and was originally developed under a grant from the USDA under the auspices of the National Anti-Bruise Committee of the Potato Marketing Improvement Program. We knew what was required- a durable, closed-cell padding with both high shock absorption and a long wear life-and NOBRUZE beats the competition in both categories. |

We have extended our market over the years and are now involved with over twenty different fruits and vegetables, including tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, citrus, bananas, melons, apples and tree fruit, onions, pineapples and other tropical fruit. We work closely with researchers and our customers to devise creative solutions to specific needs, such as our "SOFTER" NOBRUZE, which was created in conjunction with the USDA-ARS at MICHIGAN STATE to reduce harvesting losses in the BLUEBERRY and CHERRY industry, and our new BANANA TRAY PADS, which we developed with DOLE to reduce handling damage losses in their packing houses, and which resulted in a 5% increase in bananas meeting specification when examined at port prior to shipment, a dollar value of $12 million per year! We are currently finishing field testing on another exciting new product, our NOBRUZE II FIELD BIN LINER, a totally different composite foam that is both economical and extremely effective in reducing bruising and compression damage caused in the loading and transportation of field bins to packing houses. Starting with our NOBRUZE PADDING, all of our products are designed to pay for themselves in the very first year and provide a very attractive ROI for our customers.
