A Note from the President:

This section of our web site is obviously a labor of love and will be continually added to over the coming year. It is divided into two sections: dealer and customer testimonials. We are very pleased and impressed with the highly positive responses from both dealers and customers. As you read the following testimonials, you will see the same comments reappearing:

  • High Shock Absorption
  • Long Wear Life
  • Reduced Bruise Damage
  • Improved Produce Quality
  • A Closed Cell Structure that will not absorb
    water, fungus,  bacteria or mold
  • FDA approval

As the inventor of Nobruze (with the help of a grant from the USDA),
these comments are particularly gratifying since they are the very same
criteria we used to create Nobruze back in 1992. Some essential requirements of Nobruze are that it's an agricultural padding designed specifically to increase produce quality and profitability and provide growers, packers and processors with a padding that pays for itself in the very first year.

Why does Nobruze work so well? You can begin with the ability to reduce
impact forces by up to 80% on drops up to 3.5 feet and the corresponding
reductions in bruise damage of 30% or more. Just look at all of the independent
test data we have assembled on Nobruze over the years (our Test Data page)
and you can see for yourself. Keep watching this page!

William P. Boyle, President and Inventor of Nobruze Padding

Fresh Mark Corporation

"We have been both selling Nobruze padding and using it on the equipment we build for use in fresh fruit packing for nearly ten years. We switched to Nobruze Padding for two major reasons. Nobruze padding gives us noticeably better impact protection. We use it on fresh fruit and produce processing lines packing everything from tomatoes to tangerines. We also favor this padding because it is "closed cell" and does not become a breeding ground for mold and bacteria. In our mold testing program, we have found padding to be a serious area of concern when it comes to sanitizing."

- Michael Bowers, Fresh Mark Corporation, Mascotte, FL 352-429-4171

 Ike’s Welding & Manufacturing Co.

“We find the pressure and impact reduction available from Nobruze materials are a valuable asset. We encourage its use to all our customers. We use Nobruze as a standard item on all possible drops on our custom-built lines of warehouse equipment. One of the most outstanding features of  Nobruze is the closed cell construction, which deters the spread of bacterial contamination that can grow in most open cell foam materials. Reduction of bacteria is of utmost importance to growers who store their produce and to the seed grower who is also aware of the need to eliminate possible sources of bacterial infections and to reduce bruising. We thank the manufacturers of Nobruze for a product that will help the agricultural industry supply a better product to the market.”

Customer Testimonials:

Meyer Tomatoes LLC

"Meyer Tomatoes first began experimenting with Nobruze Padding during the harvesting season of 1995. Throughout the season, controlled fruit handling tests were conducted to determine if the use of Nobruze Padding was feasible. Based on the study completed during the normal harvesting period of 21 weeks, under normal field operating conditions, we concluded that an additional 32 cartons per load of mature green tomatoes would be packed from trailers padded with Nobruze Padding.

Applying standard cost accounting payback analysis, our accounting dept. recommended that the company pad each of the 46 sets of trailers. As the test demonstrated, the project would have a payback period of 7 months of usage, assuming a normal trailer usage and a normal seasonal average price of $5.00 per carton.

Meyer Tomatoes would encourage potential users of Nobruze Padding to fully evaluate the merits of this padding to their individual application. Based on our application, it proved cost beneficial both in terms of better fruit handling and increased profitability."

- Al Parolini, Chief Operations Officer, Meyer Tomatoes LLC

"We would like to commend you and your corporation on the Nobruze Padding. As a grower, packer, and shipper of a large variety of fruit and vegetables, we feel that your product serves our bell pepper grading belt with far more superiority than any of the other comparable products hands down. The longevity of Nobruze Padding outlasts your competition tenfold. Not only do we eliminate the bruising in the bell pepper but we receive a product that holds up for shipping much longer. It is nice to know that in today's business you can still purchase a product that is well worth the price and fulfills its purpose."

"We have been using Nobruze Padding since 1996 in our accumulator bins, surge bins and on other areas in our packing line. We are very pleased with the performance of Nobruze and have found it to be the best padding available for reducing damage to our citrus crop. Oak Grove Farms

“With Oak Grove Farms, Inc. being a McCain’s contract grower, we are faced with reaching incentives to be profitable.  One of the incentives that we have a lot of control of is “bruise free”.  For the past seven or so years we have utilized Nobruze on our potato equipment in areas with directional change and drops to minimize the shock the potato sustains through the machine.  We believe that with few opportunities to control our own fate, that with Nobruze, we have been able to be a leader in “bruise free” in our area for many of the past years, which means profitability.”

 - Jerry Hetzel, Owner, Oak Grove Farms Inc.

The Citrus Board of South Australia

CBSA tested NoBruze Padding and in a newsletter to their members had this to say about it:

“We don’t make a habit of product promotion but, with a view to minimizing fruit injury, we conducted tests with our Instrumented Sphere. We dropped the Sphere  five times from a height of 250mm onto a totally supported belt. The impacts measured ranged between 335 g’s and 478 g’s. We then dropped the Sphere onto a 19mm thick piece of NoBruze from the same height. The impacts ranged from 57-60 g’s. This trial clearly indicates what can be achieved using this product.”

 Dawson Farms

“We have used the Nobruze Protective Padding for the past five years in our sweet potato operation. Sweet potatoes are conveyed to a trailer running along the side of a digger and into bins. Nobruze is used to help eliminate skinning and bruising of our potatoes. We are well pleased with the product.”
